NBEMS Overview: A two-page general description of the programs included in NBEMS and how they work together. To ensure that we are all using the same stable version, and to preserve interoperability, N1GB has created a download page with the latest "official" versions. Very often, it still contains a bug or two, and certain major revisions won't work with older versions. IMPORTANT! NH-ARES does not use the "latest" release of the NBEMS software. It should increase our message handling capacity and at the same time reduce content errors. NBEMS has proven to be a great addition to our emcomm toolbox, one that nicely complements Winlink and the old standby manual message handling methods. If your radio is capable of CAT operation, use FLRIG. Its major feature is the transmission of attachments in discrete blocks which makes the repetition of fills rapid and efficient.įLRIG is a simple rig-control program that permits FLDIGI to interact directly with your radio, making operation far easier. When communicating with another station that is using FLMSG, the received messages automatically open and populate the appropriate form information fields for efficient sharing with served agency personnel.įLAMP is a file transfer tool. These templates are organized by served agency type, and include the ICS, Hospital ICS, Red Cross and ARRL Radiogram forms. All the other tools in the suite communicate through FLDIGI.įLMSG is a collection of message form templates. It can be used for direct keyboard to keyboard contact, as well as with pre-programed macros. It has a large (and growing) selection of digital modes giving operators many options for establishing reliable communications under a wide range of propagation and noise conditions. NH ARES uses this suite of tools – FLDIGI, FLMSG and FLAMP - because they can pass long messages quickly and accurately (important for lists and detailed requests), have options for effective communications across a variety of propagation conditions, and are inter-operable with NTS-D and Winlink.įLDIGI is the modem ‘engine’ that is used to establish communications with other stations. On this page you will find links to download the program files, tutorials, and other useful information. You can use a 500 MHz computer, but 1GHz or faster is strongly recommended. It is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and Puppy Linux. NBEMS is a free (thanks and a tip of the hat to Dave W1HKJ and his team!) digital sound-card mode communications software suite that works equally well on HF or VHF SSB and VHF/UHF-FM. QNX stations have two spaces before their CALLSIGN. There are no spaces before their CALLSIGN. These Active stations are easy to identify in the Roster. Guest/NCS will host <10 participating stations. Exercises are designed to practice key traffic-handling tasks briskly: content is secondary, it mainly adds realism to the Exercise. Exercise files will initially be generated by NCS. ![]() ![]() NBEMS Exercises conducted by Guest/NCS use standard ORCA NBEMS Exercise format. Required: You should be comfortable working NBEMS Exercises, and have sufficient signal to cover the net. ![]()
